Pinterest Ads a Badge of Success for Social Network
Pinterest has become the latest social network to start trialing advertising. It’s probably about time, considering that this $3.8bn company currently generates zero revenue. In related news, it’s likely that Pinterest ads will be seen by mostly feminine eyes. According to figures released by RJ Metrics, Pinterest activity has a 92% female gender skew in the US, and reaches more women than Twitter. Meanwhile, of 30bn pins placed thusfar, 20% have been Food & Drink related and online marketplace Etsy is the domain with most repins.
